Blake R. Hanson, 70, of Grand Rapids, MN passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Bethesda Hospital, St. Paul, MN. He was born on February 24, 1947 in Virginia, MN to Harley and Norma Hanson. In 1965 Blake graduated from Grand Rapids High School and continued his education at St. Cloud State University where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in 1970. He married Bette Lange on September 1, 1973. Blake worked for the DNR for 40 years as a Fisheries Technician until his retirement in 2005. He enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bette and his parents. Blake is survived by his son, Brandon (Sonja) Hanson of Grand Rapids, MN; daughter, Brook (Grant Zimmerman) Hanson of Glendale, AZ; sisters, Susan Larson of Grand Rapids, MN; June (Bill) Libbey of Northfield, MN; four grandchildren, Lynden Partch, Ashleigh Hanson, Amelia Hanson, Lance Zimmerman, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
