Anderson, 97, went home to her Lord and Savior on Monday June 28, 2010 at Autumn Lane in Cohasset, MN Bernice was born in Annandale, Minnesota on March 22, 1913 to Perry and Effie Houchins. She graduated from Ely High School. Bernice married Ralph Anderson on April 10, 1941. They made their home in Pengilly where they collected agates. She loved working in her greenhouse, gardening, and camping. She always made sure that her family and friends and everyone were well fed. She moved to Manor House in Grand Rapids in 2003 and to Autumn Lane in 2005. Bernice was a longtime member of Pengilly Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph; brother, Lester Houchins; sister, Ethel Marie Houchins; and great-grandchildren, Sabrina, Daniel, and Jonathon. Survivors include her children, Beverly (William) Houwman of Aurora, MN; Bonnie (Fred) Ballou of Park Rapids, MN, Colleen (Lyle) Paulson of Thief River Falls, MN, and Darrell (Sara) Anderson of Bovey, MN; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 30 in the Libbey Funeral Home, and continues from 10 until the 11 a.m. Funeral Service on Thursday July 1 in the Community Bible Chapel in Cohasset.
