Barbara Joanne Valtinson, 64, of Alexandria, Minnesota, formerly of Grand Rapids, Minnesota died Friday Feb. 22, 2013 in Alexandria after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Barbara was born in Aberdeen, South Dakota to Leslie and Barbara Feltus. She graduated from high school in South Dakota. On June 29, 1971 Barb married Donald Valtinson. They made their home in Grand Rapids. For the past seven years Barb lived in Alexandria. She was a past member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids. Surviving family includes her daughter Cheryle (John Goulet) Valtinson of Alexandria; grandchildren Cameron Washburn, Lacey Washburn, Carrie Goulet, and Noah Goulet; and a great-granddaughter, Maralyne Meyer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald in 2003; parents; and one brother, Ransom. Visitation is from 1:30 until the 2:00 pm memorial service on Friday March 1 in the Libbey Funeral Home in Grand Rapids. Rev. Mark Falck will officiate.
