Audrey Mae Meagher, 82, of Yuma, Arizona, died on Sunday, June 26, 2011, at Grand Village in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Audrey Mae Meagher, 82, of Yuma, Arizona, died on Sunday, June 26, 2011, at Grand Village in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Audrey was born to Willard and Mabel Belding in Waterloo, Iowa. The family later moved to Minneapolis where Audrey attended school and married Leslie Layman. They raised four children Bill, Wayne, Joan and Rob in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota where Audrey also worked for a time as a nurse's aide. Following Leslie's death in 1966, Audrey married Robert Meagher and moved to Isle, Minnesota where they owned and operated Bob and Aud's Café and later, together with a partner, owned a fabric and sewing business. In 1977 they moved to Yuma Arizona where Audrey obtained a Realtors license and practiced real estate until retirement. While in Minnesota, Audrey enjoyed the outdoors, fishing in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter. In Arizona, she raised and tended exotic birds. Audrey was preceded in death by husband Leslie Layman, husband Robert Meagher, and son Wayne Layman. She is survived by son Bill (Sandy) Layman of Cohasset, Minnesota, daughter Joan Layman of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, son Rob (Julie) Layman of Killeen, Texas, eight grand children, two great grand children, and brother Jim Belding of Flagstaff, Arizona. A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 30, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at the Libbey Funeral Home in Grand Rapids. Memorial contributions can be made to Grand Village Activity Center or Itasca Hospice.
