Arlys "Arlie" Elaine Anderson, 83, of Grand Rapids, MN, died peacefully at home with her family on Thursday, August 8, 2019. She was born April 8, 1936 in Minneapolis to Louis and Selma Stewart. She married Richard Anderson on Sept 5, 1952. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Arlie was a very kind, loving, compassionate lady. She loved joking around with people and had a great sense of humor. She loved working in her yard and planting flowers up until she developed M.S. about 30 years ago. Arlie owned along with her husband Richard, Midway Recycling.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Richard Anderson, Sr.; sisters, Donna Torkkola, Connie Feltus, Jan Erven; brother, Louis "Cy" Stewart. Arlie was the oldest of her siblings.
Arlie is survived by her children, Loretta "Lori" (Jack) Pierce of Cohasset, MN; Richard (Jill) Anderson, Jr. of Delano, MN; grandchildren, Tina Brenny, Teresa Jensen, Tiffany Sorensen, Jennifer Anderson and Mark Anderson; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 gr-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers and support in many heart-felt forms from many people and the help from Hospice. She will be sadly missed by all.
