Adeline H. Roy, 81, of Grand Rapids, passed away quietly on Sunday June 2, 2013 from complications of a stroke supported and surrounded by her family. Adeline and her husband, Richard, developed a tree farm on "Roy's Acres" and supplied many neighbors, friends and families with Christmas trees and wreaths. She was always there with a smile and candy canes for the children. She worked for District 318 for 12 years at Riverview School. Adeline was proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed having as many of them around as possible during holidays and special occasions. She liked going to the cabin on Bass Lake, fishing when she could, gardening, canning, baking and needlework. As her large family was growing up she sewed school clothes, prom dresses and made the wedding gowns for her daughters. At Mom's house the coffee was always on for friends and family, usually with some type of baked treats to go with the coffee. She will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Richard Roy, her parents, Gunder and Hilda Tweet, and her brothers Obert, Gerald and Gilbert Tweet. She is survived by her children, Teri (Michael) Shannon, Linda (Scott) Herr, Kathy (Mark) Lutterman, Douglas (Mona) Roy, Kevin (Tracey) Roy, Addie (John) Ahonen, 12 Grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren. Also her sisters in law, Marilyn Hakala, Pat Antilla, Eleanor Roy, Isle Tweet and Lucille Nelson. Following her wishes, a private gathering of the immediate family was held at the Itasca-Calvary Cemetery where she has been interred.
